COLLABORATIVE PRODUCTION PLATFORMS

 

C.A.S.I.T.A. (Madrid)

C.A.S.I.T.A. is an artistic collective whose permanent members are Loreto Alonso, Eduardo Galvagni and Diego del Pozo. The meaning of its acronym varies according to each project.

Colectivo Cine sin Autor

Collective that advocates of a social production model based on nonauthorship. It is currently busy with the first Nonauthored Cinema Factory in the contemporary creation centre Intermediae, located in Matadero Madrid.

 

Cooperativa DRAC MAGIC (Barcelona)

Drac Màgic was founded in 1970 and is actively involved in studying and divulgating cinema and other audiovisual works and using them in educational, social and cultural activities. One of its preferential areas of expertise is the representation of women in the media and their presence in filmmaking and critics.


Donestech (Barcelona)

DONESTECH is a cultural initiative evolving collaborative methods using free technology contributing to produce inclusive public spheres in the spaces of social and political exclusion. DONESTECH is a long-term artistic research developing research and production projects at the intersection of audiovisual, gender issues, and free software.

 

La Fundició (Barcelona)

Cooperative whose work stands at the crossroads between artistic practice and education. Its main activity is focused on providing educational services to organisations and producing collaborative projects of continuity with different groups and institutions.

 

Las Lindes (Madrid)

Action and research project on education, arts and cultural practices promoted by CA2M/Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo. Starting from an interest in the relationship between critical pedagogies and cultural practices, it held open meetings to work upon texts, to share and to analyse educational projects related to contemporary art practices, to broadcast  experimental materials for use as teaching resources in different areas of education, and to debate related issues. The project takes as a point of departure an understanding of education as a cultural and a social project, and which is therefore also a collective project, pointing towards an imaginable, and as yet unresolved, future.



k3000 (Zurich)

k3000 is a temporary coalition of different individuals, all cultural producers like musicians, artists, graphic and Internet designers, journalists, curators and critics based in Zurich.

 

Sinapsis (Barcelona)

Independent office that produces artistic projects, research, consultancies and educational and mediation processes. By means of collaborative methodologies it articulates relations between the art sphere and specific non-artistic contexts.

Sitesize (Barcelona)

This platform for art projects set up in 2002 by Elvira Pujol and Joan Vila-Puig, develops specific works in the field of cultural mediation in Barcelona’s metropolitan district. Focused mainly on independent cultural production and the research of new territorial and landscape geographies, Sitesize takes visual culture, territorial representation and community development as the basis for actions that shape, identify and transform places and social dynamics.

 

Transductores (Granada/Barcelona)

Transductores is a cultural project that seeks to investigate and activate initiatives in which art practices, political intervention and education are flexibly intertwined through the efforts of interdisciplinary collectives, which are understood as public spheres, i.e., as spaces for cultural production and democratic transformation.

Cinenova (London)

Cinenova is a non-profit organisation based in London, dedicated to distributing films and videos made by women. Formed in 1991 from the merger of two feminist distributors, Circles and Cinema of Women, Cinenova provides the means to discover and watch experimental films, narrative feature films, artists film and video, documentary and educational videos.

Spanish distributor of video art and media art.

 

mazefilm (Berlin)

Film production platform set by artistand author Sandra Schäfer that deals with the representation of gender, with urbanism and (post-)colonialism.

 

Mostra Internacional de Films de Dones (Barcelona)

The International Women's Film Festival of Barcelona, running every year since 1993, aims to promote cinema made by women filmakers from all over the world, increasing their visibility in audiovisual culture, thus proving the significance of women's contribution to the development of audiovisual creation.

 

sixpackfilm (Vienna)

sixpackfilm was founded in 1990 as a non-profit organization. The task undertaken by sixpackfilm is to secure an audience for Austrian film and video art, both inside Austria and abroad.


 

Documentarist (Istanbul)

It is an independent initiative run by a group documentary filmmakers. Geared towards the new generation of filmmakers and film students as well as the filmlovers, the event is created mainly to support creative documentary filmmaking and to bring the best example of the genre to Istanbul.

 

Arsenal - Institute for Film und Video Art (Berlin)

Communicating international film culture in a lively manner is both the aim and mission of Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art. Working at the point where practice and theory come together, the institute comprises a space for thinking outside the box in (film) cultural terms, a cinema whose attention is focused on independent and experimental film and a communication platform for promoting dynamic exchange between film, academia and art linked to a whole network of different organizations.

 

Ciné-Tamaris (Paris)

Ciné-Tamaris is Agnès Varda's production company dedicated to the production and restoration of films by Varda and Jacques Demy.

 

Woman Make Movies (New York)

Established in 1972 to address the under representation and misrepresentation of women in the media industry, Women Make Movies is a multicultural, multiracial, non-profit media arts organization which facilitates the production, promotion, distribution and exhibition of independent films and videotapes by and about women.

 

Argos (Brussels)

Argos. Centre for Arts and Media is a Brussels-based centre founded in 1989, that explores the relationship between art and media, and how these influence our perception of the world. Its territory is comprised of the audiovisual and visual arts, whereby much attention is given to the interaction with other disciplines and to the reflection upon evolution within the information society.

ARTIUM is a museum and centre for cultural activities, engaged in the collection, production, dissemination, research and diffusion of the art of our time. Intermediæ is an experimental space supported by Madrid City Council. Located at Matadero Madrid, it is conceived as a laboratory for the production of projects and social innovation, specialized in visual culture driven by participation. It investigates new ways of involving different audiences in the circles of art and culture. It understands creation as a shared learning space and experimentation as a form of involvement in cultural production. It collaborates with projects committed to a view of community work as a practice that serves to produce innovation and transformation.

La Virreina-Centre de la Imatge (Barcelona)

La Virreina Image Centre aims to explore the notion of the image as knowledge and also as a way of sparking new cultural experiences. Its key mission is to forge its own identity within the network of spaces in Barcelona, in terms of its lines of programmes and its contents and formats, as well as working closely with other centres for visual creation.

 

Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid)

The Museo Reina Sofía program is based on a redefinition of the function of museums, on an alternative to the institution's historical models. Conceived to be a place that generates opportunities for sociability and discussion in the public sphere, the Museum proposes models of resistance in a society in which consumption and merchandise predominate and in which production has become fragmented, thus resulting in a geopolitical map hitherto unknown, and also in new social classes, relations and subjectivities. Creating alternative narrations, developing new forms of intermediation and forming active spectators are the Museum's main priorities.
